Snow Storm Dec. 2010

Well this is what happens when the jet stream comes out of the south with moisture. It has snowed non stop for 3 days. At times it is light and then at other times it is heavy as you can see. Tony measured what had fallen in 20 hours on top of Jan and Gary's Suburban. Over 15 inches. We had quite a time getting to work this morning, but made it. It certainly was a day to stay by the fire and read a book or something.

The kids and adults enjoyed learning how they did things in Nauvoo back in 1840. Making candles, rope and red bricks.

Trip to Nauvoo

For Thanksgiving, Mark and I along with Wayne and Stacy's family traveled to Illinois to be with Lonnie and Angel's family. The weather cooperated and we flew out on Wed. Nov. 23. We enjoyed a lovely meal at Mascoutah and then on Friday we loaded up and drove 3 hours north east to Nauvoo. We stayed at the Nauvoo Family Inn. Here are a few photos of the sites.

Wayment Family Reunion 2010

This year we enjoyed a fun family reunion near Zion National Park. Of course the park is beautiful as you can see here. Stacy and kids, along with Adam went with us to Zion Ponderosa where we stayed in a lovely vacation home and resort. We had fun swimming, playing games and exploring the area. The older folks played miniture golf and went paint balling. Of course we ate and ate yummie food.

Project

Mark and I have been busy putting metal siding on our pump house out back. It needed to be done. This should make it better for the freezing weather of winter. Doesn't it look nice now?

On Top of the World

Mark and I hit the trail once again. I wanted to go on a better weather day and it certianly was. Mark had noticed this beautiful torquise colored lake that sits over the mountain from Toqure Lake that we went to last week. So we went exploring. We found it after a lot of hiking over a big rock field. We were up high and it felt like we were on top of the world. The trail was a fun one with challenges, ponds, meadows and rocks. There were a couple of real rocky spots on the trail. I'm glad we had no troubles and that we got home safely. We did some good horse training on this trip. It was a beautiful day.

Yesterday, Mark and I went with Deb and Alan on a ride to Toquer Lake. Deb had never been into the high Unitas horseback. We got rained and hailed on. Alan caught some fish. We had a nice time together.
