Trip to Florida - Theatre of the Seas

On our Christmas break we, Mark, Adam and I flew to Florida to spend time with Tony & Stacie's family and to enjoy the warm weather and see the sights. On our first day there we drove down to the keys and had some fun at this Marine show. The dolphin act was pretty good as you see here with this trainer. Rylee and Eric had the opportunity to be kissed by the dolphin, but my pictures didn't turn out the best.

Rylee, Eric and Paige held a parrot for a moment.

Christmas in Florida

Here is Tony and Stacie's house.

Christmas Morning.

Happy Rylee with her new Felicity American Girl doll.

Eric was thrilled for new cars. He said, "Just what I wanted."

Paige with her new doll in her own little tree hut.

Christmas lights on palm trees.

Tony's family lives in a nice sub division called Waterstone.

They really decorated up for Christmas.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of this place.

We had to drive through two gates to get to their house.

One day we drove out to this fun place where they sold all kinds of produce.

They also had animals in the back for families to enjoy viewing. These turtles would just pose like that forever sunning themselves. Cute.

We enjoyed some yummie shakes made with exotic fruits. Mmmmmmm....

The Beach

One of the highlights of the trip was the beach.

We drove west across the Everglades National Park to Naples.

This is a beautiful white sand beach.

The weather was very warm and beautiful. The only drawback was everybody else was off and wanted to be at the beach too. Couldn't blame them. But we staked out a little piece of sand and had so much fun.

Key West

One day, Mark, Adam and I drove down through the Florida Keys all they way to Key West and to the most Southern spot on the contential U.S.

We drove over lots of bridges. One that was seven miles long. I was amazed with all the places people were living. Lots of water and boats.

We watched these people on jet packs off the shore at the most southern beach.

Coral Castle

In Homestead, where Tony's family lives and he is working on a new power plant, there was this interesting muesum, The Coral Castle

Back in the early 1900's, this man named Ed carved out this castle and he actually lived here. He was a very small man as you can see by Adam and Eric.

He carved everything out of coral, that lies under the topsoil.

It was a pretty garden with all kinds of furniture and such. He built a wall to enclose it all in. It was an interesting story.
